Become a Great Cis Ally
What can you do to show up for the trans and gender queer people in our lives with more understanding and support?
This workshop actively engages cis people to unpack gender and sex role socialization in order to reckon with the social construction of gender.
This isn’t your average sit-and-listen session. We’re diving into how we relate to gender—personally, socially, and systemically—and how we can all show up as stronger, more consistent allies in our everyday lives. Through a series of stories and self reflection, we will consider the stereotypes related to masculinity and femininity, as well as the power dynamics that maintain the gender binary.
Whether you’re new to this work or deep into your journey, there’s space for you here.
What You’ll Leave with:
Shared understanding of how gender roles, expression, and identity show up in our lives.
Sharpened spidey senses for spotting the line between healthy curiosity and invasive questions.
A toolbox of everyday ways to be a badass, effective cis ally.
At least one next move that fits your life and your journey as an ally.
Recognition that fighting for trans and gender justice isn’t just about others—it’s about all of us being free together.
This workshop is offered live (in person or over zoom) and can be customized to suit your timeline and availability.
